He tenses, and she tells him to breathe. "I don't bite," she says, then adds "Not on the first night, anyway." The episode stops on that line.
Episode 2: Sophie leaves, Veronica stays
Jake says good night to Mrs. Parker, flustered. In bed, Sophie asks what is wrong, and he brushes it off. By morning Sophie has slipped out, and Veronica, already up, tells him a work matter called her daughter into town until evening.
Veronica asks Jake to help with a stretch and brushes off his doubts. She says she needs the help. Jake admits he has no experience with this, and she answers "We'll see."
She announces that she is going to shower and that he is welcome to join her. Jake laughs it off. The episode ends with Veronica calling him in: "Don't just stand there."
