A guard outside the queen's bedchamber: how the story opens
The queen is 22, and she chooses the castle's lowest-born guard to stand watch outside her bedchamber. Touching her is punishable by death, so each night on that post is a risk, and she keeps daring him. On October 29, 2026, I played both free episodes in a row.
After the free pair, the series keeps its premise: the guard stays at the door, the law stays in force, and her dares continue.
Episode 1: The pick of last resort
The episode opens on the rule that touching the queen is punishable by death. Kale is a stable hand who ended up in the Queensguard, and he was the pick of last resort. The queen asks his name, hears it, and decides he is perfect.
She assigns him to her bedchamber, starting that night, and asks him why he thinks she chose him. Kale guesses his sword arm. She says it is because he looks back at her when she looks at him.
She points out that the law forbids him to touch her but is silent on her touching him. When she remarks that his heart is hammering, Kale answers, "It comes with the post, Your Grace." The episode ends on her telling him that tonight he is hers.
Episode 2: A crown held in both hands
The second night begins with the queen telling Kale to bar the door. She hands him her crown and orders him to hold it in both hands: if he drops it, that is treason. She makes him say aloud that he cannot touch her.
Then she turns the law around. In her telling it protects him from her, and Kale protests that he should not be there. She agrees that he should not, and she enjoys that.
Her hands are allowed where his are not. The episode closes on her news that the court will choose her husband tomorrow. Tonight, she says, she is not his queen.
Episodes 1 and 2: what happens on screen
Neither of the free episodes goes past clothed scenes. Orders, dares and a crown carry the action, and the suggestive part sits in the dialogue. The queen, the guard and the castle
The Candy Shorts cast is original and adult: the 22-year-old queen, who holds the upper hand in each scene, and Kale, who answers in formal courtesy while his heart races. The setting is a castle with one hard law, and the series builds on rank, risk and who gives orders.
